“The Back Of Beyond” is a joint project of composer/pianist Chaerin Im and composer Song youngnam.
This project is based on a simple motif, which served as a basis for the 8 tracks on the album.
This motif morphs, develops and blends with elements taken from classical music, free improvisation and ambient.
Chaerin invited four international musicians for this project (Matteo Mazzù on bass, Miklós Kovács on drums, Micheal Murray on alto saxophone and the guest Antonio Mariano Moreno Glazkov on trumpet). This project has a very personal sound, drastic string arrangements, big range of dynamic and unexpected improvisations.
